Introduction to ChannelCrawler

Welcome to the instructional guide on utilizing ChannelCrawler. This step-by-step guide aligns closely with the video tutorial, offering a clear and detailed understanding of how to navigate and use ChannelCrawler's features effectively.

Upon accessing the homepage, you'll find several filtering options readily available:

  • Basic search

  • Content

  • Advanced and social media

The Basic search is accessible to everyone, including free users. The other features may require a subscription, which you can learn more about on the Pricing page. This page provides insights into the different plans, inclusive filters, user options, and discounts available for exports.

Navigating Basic Search

  1. Selecting Basic Search Criteria :

    • The Basic search presents eight distinct categories: subscribers, views, videos, creation date, category, language, and the channel's country.

    • You can input minimum thresholds like 5,000 subscribers, and specify minimum views and videos. For example, setting a creation date to within the last year (365 days) focuses your search on newer channels.

  2. Content Filter Selection :

    • This step allows for a granular approach to content. Choose from options like activity status, suitability for children, video length, and membership status.

    • Decide on the child-friendliness of the content by selecting 'Yes' for kid-focused channels, 'No' for adult-oriented ones, or 'N.A.' to bypass this filter.

    • If seeking specific content, like gaming or even a particular game (e.g., "Call of Duty"), input these as tags.

    • Set requirements for recent uploads, like channels that have uploaded a video within the past 100 days.

    • If you want to find out exactly what a filter does, you can hover over the question marks. It tells me exactly what they mean and how to use them.

  3. Utilizing Advanced Filters :

    • Advanced filters delve into channel performance metrics. For instance, you might want to find channels with at least 10% viewer engagement from their subscribers.

    • You may want the channel to be growing and therefore select some more growth metics.

    • You have set criteria for audience engagement, such as average viewers per video. A minimum threshold, such as 5,000 views per video, can be specified.

  4. Incorporating Social Media Filters :

    • The social media filters are a newer addition, allowing you to find channels with cross-platform presence, like on Facebook. You can choose if a channel should have a Facebook page, not have one, or if this criterion is not applicable.

Executing and Analyzing the Search

  1. Final Review of Search Parameters :

    • Carefully review all your selected criteria. This includes checking categories like gaming, language preferences, and average view requirements.

    • Adjust any filters as necessary, such as removing an unneeded category or re-adding a previously removed filter.

  2. Initiating the Search Process :

    • Click the search button to start the search. The system will then process your request through the ChannelCrawler database based on the set criteria.

  3. Evaluating Search Results :

    • Once the search is complete, a list of channels fitting your filters will be displayed. For example, you might see a gaming channel with a significant subscriber count, like 582k.

    • Browse the results, exploring various channels and their details.

  4. Post-Search Actions :

    • After reviewing the search results, you have options to conduct a new search or export the results for additional analysis.
